F
or more than 90 years, the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Beta Theta Pi has
played an integral role in the Greek experience at Oklahoma State. Founded
in 1923, our chapter has set itself apart from other fraternities on campus—
and nationally—by producing members who distinguish themselves as scholars,
leaders, athletes, and Men of Principle. We have demonstrated the fraternity's shared
belief that brotherhood brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds to
assist each other in the attainment of high-minded goals, developing a lifelong
commitment and creating friendships that will stand the post-graduate test of time
and distance.
Many of our brothers have gone on to successful and distinguished careers in
business, engineering, medicine, law, and countless other endeavors, adhering to
our shared principles and values. At the time, we may not have realized that the
act of joining Beta Theta Pi and actively participating in chapter life would teach us
leadership and organizational skills, teamwork, character development, and help
us hone social habits, which would serve us well throughout our lives.
Gamma Lambda alumni have the opportunity to ensure the Beta experience for
future generations of men. The following pages detail the steps needed to complete
the construction of a new chapter house. This project will not only serve the
immediate needs of our current undergraduates, but will provide a premier facility
for all Betas to use and enjoy.
Now is the time for the living members of the Gamma Lambda Chapter to rise and
commit ourselves to this grand endeavor. With our past and present secure, we
must now look to our future.
Our Proud History
"Pledging Beta turned out to be one of the most important
things that ever happened to me. The fraternity gave me the confidence
to go out in the world and compete."
