Kappa Sigma 3 ReCRuitment and aCademiCs on the Rise Undergraduates Set Goals for Upcoming Semesters T he hard work and dedication of the members of the Beta-Chi Chapter continue to surprise and impress me. Our St. Pat's involvement, led by Ryan Howe '14, was an amazing attempt, and while our work fell short and we got third, the effort given by everyone in the chapter shows their drive to succeed. 21 NEw MEMBERS The spring recruitment class was larger than average with seven new members, leading into the fall recruitment of 21 possible new members. While it is a much smaller class than usual, the members are reliable and promising. With our new recruitment chairman, Blaine Hrovat '15, the upcoming recruitments seem very promising with his sociable demeanor and outgoing personality. ACADEMIC GOAlS SET With a chapter average GPA of 3.115, we are very close to reaching our goal. Hopefully, with continued study hours and the academic resources that the house provides, each member can easily achieve a GPA of at least 3.2 this semester. PHIlANTHROPIC INvOlvEMENT Philanthropy went well for the 2016 spring semester. Under Brad Stetson '15, we had an incredibly successful annual Fish Fry. Along with this, donations have continued to be made by caring companies in the Rolla area. Service has also continued to show the involvement of each member. This includes our recent trip to help the women's shelter, and also each member's individual service in the community and in their hometowns. Finally, the participation of all members in campus intramural sports is a great show of our brotherhood. Ben Fassler '15 led our annual Mother's Weekend and Oktoberfest to round out the semester. Everyone continues to show their passion and support for what they do and love. I am very optimistic about the direction and members of this Chapter. I believe everyone will continue striving for success and the betterment of Beta-Chi. A.E.K.Δ.B., Reno Reed '13 Grand Master (816) 352-2261 rwq44@mst.edu (1) Beta-Chi undergraduates.
