Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster. He retired from the Air Force as the vice commander of tactical air command, with headquarters at Langley Air Force Base, Va., in 1988. Glenn E. "Gene" Badgley '56 entered Chapter Eternal on June 2 due to heart failure. After graduating from MSU, Gene entered the U.S. Army. In Korea, he ran a railroad that carried supplies to the armed forces and finished his enlistment as captain, transportation corps. Gene valued his years in Sigma Chi and developed lifelong friendships that evolved into a group of elk hunters who camped and hunted together at the same place for 50 years. He took a job in the engineering department of Standard Oil in Billings and then advanced to territory sales manager in eastern Montana. He eventually bought the Standard Oil Bulk Plant distributorship in Bozeman and retired after 35 years there. Wayne L. Fleming '58 entered Chapter Eternal as a resident of Warrenton, Ore. He will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and Beta Rho brothers. David H. Manley '58 entered Chapter Eternal on November 23, 2015, with his wife of 47 years, Thelma, by his side. Dave farmed and ranched for several years. As Bozeman grew, he decided to retire from the farm to pursue investments and land development. A few of his endeavors included Bridger Creek Golf Course and Spring Garden RV Park in Yuma, Arizona, and Manley Meadows Subdivision. Dave loved sports, especially baseball and the New York Yankees. Dr. Robert W. Rector '61 entered Chapter Eternal on September 28 as a resident of Gold Canyon, Ariz. He was a lifelong Presbyterian and avid golfer, he joined bowling leagues, played softball at 6th Avenue Complex, was a member of the Ski Patrol at Bears Paw Ski Hill and Ducks Unlimited, and donated to numerous fundraising activities supporting Hill County and many others. Robert practiced dentistry for 40 years in Havre and served on the Montana State Board of Dental Examiners. He truly enjoyed his work, staff, and patients. John C. "Jay" Maney '62 entered Chapter Eternal on November 1, 2015, as a resident of East Dennis, Mass. Jay and his beloved wife, Connie, were married for more than 50 years. He was a devoted father to his children, Lisa, Kathleen, Brenden, and Jeffrey and is survived by nine loving grandchildren. Jay was a proud brother in the Beta Rho and Beta Delta Chapters of Sigma Chi. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War. His best job in retirement was working at Fells True Value in Winchester for more than 20 years. He could be found on his days off hiking and kayaking in New Hampshire. Howard T. "Beaver" Gilroy '65 entered Chapter Eternal on October 26 as a resident of Camano Island, Wash. Beaver valued the memories and friendships he gained in Beta Rho and will be missed greatly by his fraternity brothers. Tim J. Kelly '77 entered Chapter Eternal on July 16 at the age of 61. After graduating from college, Tim spent the next several years working in Billings for Standard Chemical. He loved fencing and was always the source of good stories and a laugh at brandings. Tim also drove trucks seasonally for Agri-Basics and was a realtor, specializing in agricultural properties. He liked cats and was an avid reader and historian. Tim was especially knowledgeable of WWII and the Lewis and Clark expedition.
