n September 17, the Zeta Phi House Corporation
held its annual meeting at the chapter house
with all directors present. A host of subjects were
addressed ranging from finances to board succession.
As for finances, our fiscal year ended June 30, and the
corporation experienced excellent financial results.
Due to significant cash flow from operatiaons and
collection of pledges previously made for the new
building, we were able to reduce our debt by $567,000
and our debt now stands at $4,150,000, which is lower
than originally projected for this point in time. I would
like to note that while almost 98% of campaign pledges
have been paid, it is important that we remain diligent
on collecting the remaining amount, most of which is
due in 2016.
Additionally, for those who may not have been in a
position to make a pledge several years ago, we are
still seeking members for the 520 Club. This group has
pledged to make a $520 payment for each of the next
five years for a total of $2,600. If you would like more
information, please contact me directly.
Our board is continually reviewing its composition and
we are aiming to add a few new members in the next
year. To keep our board energetic and in step with the
younger generation, we will be focusing our efforts on
candidates who have graduated in the last 15 years.
If you have interest in joining the board, please let us
know.

hen David Knight '59 arrived at the University
of Missouri for the first time, he admitted that
he needed to improve "in many areas." He decided
to join the brothers of Beta Theta Phi because of the
character and quality of the members, all of whom were
achievers and positive role models. These were the men
who would offer him their unwavering friendship, and
in doing so, influenced David's future for the better.
Although the upperclassmen initially drew him to
the fraternity, David ultimately found himself more
inspired by his fellow pledge brothers. Together they
created a cohort of brothers who pushed each other to
be Men of Principle. As he now confessed, "I believe I
spent more time before the Eye of Wooglin than any of
my pledge brothers, but I consider that to have been a
learning experience and quite motivational." Their ties
