ByFredGoodall TheAssociatedPress TAMPA, FLA. Tampa Bay first- round draft pick Vernon Har- greaves III has a lasting mem- ory of the first time he matched up against Oakland Raiders re- ceiver Amari Cooper. Nothing the young corner- back saw on film before the two met in college two years ago pre- pared him for what would be one of the most humbling days he's had on a football field. "That's the first time I played against somebody that was bet- ter than me, that I felt like was significantly better than me, and he knows that," Hargreaves said, recalling Cooper catch- ing 10 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns to pace Ala- bama's 42-21 victory over Flor- ida in 2014. "For me, I was young. I was a sophomore, and at that point he was already playing like he was in the NFL," the rookie corner- back added. "So covering him, after the game I kind of sat down and thought: 'Wow, he really got me better in a way,' if that makes sense. And he knows that." Cooper, a junior at the time, went on to become the fourth pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Hargreaves, selected 11th overall this year, gets another shot at one of the game's bud- ding stars when the Bucs (3-3) host the Raiders (5-2) on Sunday. "I've talked to him before ... and he knows we're going to get after it," Hargreaves said. "I'm excited to see him again." Cooper leads the Raiders with 40 receptions for 614 yards, but has only gotten into the end zone once this season. Team- mate Michael Crabtree has 39 catches for 461 yards and is tied with Bucs receiver Mike Evans for the league lead in TD recep- tions with six. "It's going to be exciting to go against those guys and see where we really are," said Har- greaves, whose transition to the NFL has been helped by NFL Bucs' Hargreaves eyes reunion with Cooper Sunday:OaklandRaidersat Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 10a.m., TV on CBS. Game 4: Cleveland Indians at Chicago Cubs, 5:08p.m. Saturday, TV on FOX. THESCORE By Andrew Seligman The Associated Press CHICAGO Cody Allen, Andrew Miller and the Cleveland Indi- ans' nasty bullpen shut down a Wrigley Field party 71 years in the making. Allen escaped a ninth-inning jam and the Indians pitched their fifth shutout this postseason, holding off the Chicago Cubs 1-0 Friday night for a 2-1 lead in the World Series. The crowd began forming be- yond the ivy-covered walls in the early morning, all revved up for the first World Series game at Wrigley since 1945. Fans were roaring after a two- out error by first baseman Mike Napoli helped Chicago put run- ners on second and third in the ninth. Allen silenced the neigh- borhood ballpark, striking out co- NL Championship Series MVP Ja- vier Baez to end it. Pinch-hitter Coco Crisp hit an RBI single in the seventh off Carl Edwards Jr. for the lone run. Indians starter Josh Tomlin went 4 2/3 innings, then Miller, Bryan Shaw and Allen took over. The Cubs have been blanked four times in the last eight games this postseason. It was their first 1-0 loss in the World Series since Babe Ruth and the Boston Red Sox beat them in 1918. Game 1 winner Corey Kluber starts for Cleveland on Saturday night on three days' rest, and John Lackey goes for Chicago. WORLD SERIES Indians nip Cubs 1-0 at Wrigley By Ronald Blum The Associated Press CHICAGO Back with his original big league team, Coco Crisp came through with the hit that moved the Cleveland Indians within two wins of their first World Series ti- tle since 1948. Crisp came off the bench and singled home the only run in the seventh inning Friday night, giv- ing the Indians a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs and a 2-1 Se- ries lead. Covelli Loyce Crisp was said to be given the nickname Coco by siblings who thought he resem- bled a character on the cover of a container of Cocoa Krispies ce- real. Known for his speed in his younger days, he topped the AL with 49 steals in 2011.
