17, 1966) on September 17 at the Shelter, honoring its historic past 50 years and foreseeing a positive and productive next 50 years. It was an exciting day, with the event starting at 9 a.m. and wrapping up at 11 p.m. Brothers Take the Court by Storm The Delt men continue to hold a strong presence in the intramural league. Last spring, Epsilon Mu was crowned basketball and football intramural champions. We expect to keep our titles this fall and take first place in several other leagues. Alumni, We Value Your Support Overall, Epsilon Mu had a very successful spring; however, there is always room for improvement, and that is exactly what the Delts plan: continued growth in all aspects of Greek life. The actives continue to benefit from alumni advisors' participation. They often attend executive committee meetings, weekly chapters, rituals, and many other fraternity-related events. As an alumnus, please know you are welcome to attend chapter meetings, Delt events, or stop by the Shelter for an informal visit. The fraternity continues to grow and strives for excellence through and with your support. Fraternally, Matt Nardini '17 Chapter President mwnardini@gmail.com (812) 322-9288 5 DELTA TAU DELTA Epsilon Mu Excels on Campus and Around the Community T he men of Epsilon Mu have engaged in a wide variety of philanthropic and community service events, recruited a 32-member pledge class, bringing the chapter to 90 men, and achieved a GPA above the all-male Ball State average. The chapter is very proud of recruiting so many young men, as it is the second-largest pledge class among all the campus fraternities. Chapter Strives for Academic Excellence Unfortunately, Epsilon Mu's GPA decreased this semester to a 2.833. The chapter has set in place several new incentive programs to guarantee that members meet their academic potential and achieve academic excellence this semester. Watermelon Bust Yields Success On September 24, Epsilon Mu was excited to co-host our 44th annual Watermelon Bust philanthropic event with the women of Alpha Chi Omega. The event continues to be the largest and most successful philanthropic event across the entire Greek community. This year, the chapter elected to donate all the proceeds to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Participation throughout the Greek community, as well as the non-Greek community, continues to be outstanding. As has become an Epsilon Mu tradition, the chapter is the BSU Greek leader in successful philanthropy, whether it is in the fall, winter, or spring. Chapter Recruits Second- Largest Pledge Class A few semesters ago, the chapter implemented a recruitment program, 5-Star Recruitment. Great success was experienced with this process and the program has continued to foster Epsilon Mu growth. As a result, we recruited the second-largest pledge class among all 13 BSU fraternities. I see great potential with this group of young gentlemen through community outreach, academic prowess, leadership in outside organizations and within Epsilon Mu, intramurals, and many other areas important to this chapter. Members Get Involved on Campus Every member of Epsilon Mu is required to become involved in at least two outside organizations. Examples of these outside organizations include Finance Society, Accounting Club, Econ Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cardinal Communications, and IFC. Members are also encouraged to seek leadership roles within their respective organizations. Chapter activities for this semester included an etiquette dinner; an array of different social events, such as Delt Recon and a three-day event where we paired with two other fraternities; and Homecoming, where we were paired with Alpha Omicron Pi. Craig Weinberger '18 and Spencer Proffer '19 attended Karnea this year in Orlando. They brought back many great ideas to utilize within our chapter. The chapter's fall formal will be on November 4 and we expect a great turnout. Delt Hosts 50-Year Anniversary Celebration The chapter hosted the 50th anniversary of our ∆Τ∆ induction (November
