He was a man that consistently defi ed the odds; and continued to overcome the obstacles of life. After transferring to the Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, Stephen's positive attitude and love for his family was powerful medicine. Stephen shared about his love for 'hot rod' cars; having restored many of them himself. As they listened to Stephen share, Hospice Cleveland County staff had a lightbulb moment…. Testa Family Hospice House was going to host a cruise-in! With the support of Stephen's family, and the kindness of Lyle Strugis and Tindol Ford Roush, Testa's parking lot came to life. Roush Mustangs, Dodge Chargers, a classic Firebird, restored Chevy truck, race car, and a 'one-of-a-kind' Mercury Cougar, rumbled into the parking lot. As engines revved, Stephen smiled and talked shop with drivers and friends. His smile and good humor was contagious; and the love that he and his family shared with one another was a gift to the staff at Hospice Cleveland County. Moments like this defi ne hospice care: promoting comfort and quality, while providing care designed specifi cally for individual patients. We would like to thank Stephen's family for sharing Stephen and his cars with us.
