Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family Issues 2nd Annual Statewide Youth Challenge Which county will win this year? Last year, La Paz County youth led the state with 56 service projects, 752 youth volunteers and 5,647 ser- vice hours. What an extraordinary accomplishment! This was a friend- ly competition between all fifteen counties for the most youth-led ser- vice projects logged on the Gover- nor's Youth Commission website at BeSeenBeHeard.az.gov. The Governor's Youth Commission (GYC) challenges Arizona's youth in Arizona to implement service proj- ects in their communities from Sep- tember 19, 2016 - January 7, 2017 and record them on the GYC website: BeSeenBeHeard.az.gov with photos and videos. Last year La Paz County set the standard for mobilizing youth and ranked number one! With all of the counties competing, over 94,000 youth-led service hours were logged. The county with the most projects will receive special recognition from the Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF). 2nd annual Youth Challenge "I am so inspired by all the motivat- ed youth in Arizona who serve oth- ers. This competition is a great way to improve our neighborhoods and connect our communities," shared the GOYFF Director, Debbie Moak. "I look forward to seeing which county will mobilize the most youth and win this year's competition." GYC Commissioners for La Paz County Lillian Perez and Jonathan McElwain decided that the best point of contact for the youth groups and organizations to report their GYC Commissioners for La Paz County Lillian Perez and Jonathan McElwain service projects and hours to would be with Amanda Lucas of PAACE. This is so there aren't duplications of the information. The information that is required Is: -Name of the organization or group -What was the activity or event -Date of activity or event -Number of youth, and their names involved -Number of volunteer service hours Amanda Lucas' contact info is: amanda.paace@gmail.com (928) 669-0175 Also new this year, is a brand new Off-Road Swap Meet at the QIA on the first Sunday of the month from December through March.
