RED BLUFF 2010 25 ed and developed the Tehama Economic Development Corporation, the area's vitally important and successful economic and job development organi- zation. The Chamber serves as the administrative arm of the Downtown Red Bluff Business Assocation and presents two scholarships each year to deserving Tehama County high school graduates. Under the community pro- motion and public informa- tion heading, the Chamber annually distributes 500 local maps, 1,000 recreation guides, 400 relocation pack- ets, 5,000 event calendars and countless information ranging from housing and city and county demograph- ics to telephone books and voter registration forms. In addition, the Chamber handles around 1,200 tele- phone calls and e-mail requests monthly and greets and serves 20 walk-in visi- tors per day, which amounts to 420 per month, or 5,000 each year. The Chamber advertis- es our area to south- bound Interstate 5 travel- ers on a billboard in Anderson and has produced a 10-minute com- munity promotion DVD extolling the quality of life of Tehama Country. The Chamber's popular "Tehama Country" brochure is distributed through 252 outlets on the I-5 corridor from Dunnigan to Roseburg, Ore. In terms of special event sponsorship and promotion, the Chamber works with many organizations in the area and helps to attract more than 100,000 specta- tors and participants to Red Bluff during the course of any given year. These visitors spend more than $110 mil- lion in the coun- ty, according to the California Travel and Tourism Commission, and have a sig- nificant impact on the city and county's tax, sales and gasoline tax rev- enues. In terms of membership services, the Chamber spon- sors a "Good Morning, Red Bluff" meeting each month providing members, potential members and civic leaders the opportunity to network and receive local community updates on items of interest and importance to local busi- nesses. The Chamber helps get new businesses introduced to the community with grand- opening and ribbon-cutting assistance and provides all members with the opportuni- ty to be "spotlighted" on the Chamber Web site. The Chamber assists area agricultural businesses with "certificate of origin" creden- tials in order for them to ship their products to foreign countries. Finally, the Chamber, through its Electronic Message Center sign, provides advertising and promotion 16 hours per day to area businesses and countless community organi- zations for their events and projects. The Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce is at 100 Main St., and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
