The Quartzsite region is a unique geo- logical area, known for its rocks, gems and minerals. Quartzsite is known as "The Rock Capital of the World." Each year, thousands of snowbirds return to their favorite "winter nesting site" as vendors and artisans bring their best wares to our small rural community. Everything imaginable can be found in Quartzsite during the winter season. Besides over a thousand vendors each year, Quartzsite is known for its RV and ATV friendly atmosphere. ATV trails lead in all directions from town with beauti- ful desert scenery along the way. RVers enjoy the warm winters camp- ing in over 60 RV parks and 11,000 acres of BLM Long Term Visitor Area camping, or five 14-day free camp- ing areas. Visitors enjoy the beauty of incredible sunrises and sunsets of the Sonoran Desert. With the influx of RV snowbirds there's plenty to do all winter long. activities abound during our win- ter season; including Shopping in Open Air Swap Meets, Gold Mining, Hiking, RV Shows, Classic Car Shows, Fine Art, Quilt and Craft Shows, Special Events, and Daily Music Jams.
