Page 8 The North Carolina Mason Cary Lodge salutes long fallen brother RALEIGH — Masons and Civil War aficiona- dos assembled here April 14 to honor the lives of two young brothers who died 150 years ago. Joel and Joseph Holleman died just five weeks apart in 1862 while in service of the Confederate Army. Homecoming planning time for you OXFORD — Preparations are underway, plans being set, and details lined up as the Masonic Home for Children and its alumni and Masons prepare for the October 12–14, 2012 Masonic Homecoming Festival. The schedule of events, as well as details regarding the Chip Shots Golf Tour- nament, Friday Night Yard Party, parade, Barbecue Contest (including rules and sign up), Alumni Ac- tivities, and this year's entertainment (T. Graham Brown), are now available on the Masonic Home for Children website at . Check the site as we countdown the days to our second annual Masonic Homecoming Festival. In this issue of The NC Mason ABERDEEN — Roman Eagle 550 held its first ever American Red Cross Blood Drive February 24. The event was a great success with everyone pleased with the amount of community involve- ment. There were 48 donors (23 first-timers) which translates into 112 lives affected by the blood collected. Liberty Tax Service provided each donor with a certificate for free tax service. They also sent Lady Liberty to dance her way into the hearts of passersby, encouraging them to stop in.
