publisher's note O All About People for our summer issue, we are com- pletely out of our May/June issue. A random survey last week showed that very few magazines were leſt in our 140 locations throughout Cum- berland County. We printed 22,000 issues for May and they are all gone. Why is this? It is all about the people that work at CityView. Our staff is so dedicated to this magazine that it shows in the prod- uct they produce. When people love what they do and it is not a drudgery, it always shows in their work. The May/June cover was very inviting and the stories inside were interest- ing and worth a read, therefore the public wanted it and picked them up everywhere in the county. It takes more than one person to make this happen. My wife Sandee ur little lifestyle magazine not only continues to survive in this sluggish econ- omy, but our popularity has really hit new levels. As I write this column on June 11th arranges the content and advertising in an eye-catching man- ner. Our editors work for months on stories that we think will keep people's interest and they also pick an attractive cover they think will make people pick up the magazine. Aſter all this, everyone edits the publication before it goes to press. It takes all of our staff and contributors for City- View to be successful, not just one or two. Speaking of success, we must brag on our editors, Rebekah Sanderlin and Kelly Twedell. They both re- ceived prestigious awards in May. Rebekah was one of three military spouses honored by Sen. Kay Hagan for her contributions to the commu- nity, while being a mother of three and a wife to an active duty military man. and I are out in the community and we get the praise, but we are just the faces and not the backbone of the publication. It all starts with our account executives. They meet with the adver- tisers and convince them that their money will be well spent in CityView. Aſter that, the office staff triple checks the ads and their location. Our art department lays out the issue and "40 under 40" award last month. This award each year goes to the top 40 individuals in Fayetteville who are under 40 years old and are active in community affairs. Congratulations to Rebekah and Kelly for being a part of our family and com- munity. And thank you all for reading our magazine, without you it would not exist. Kelly Twedell is also a mother of two children and wife to a military man and has found time to work at CityView and be very involved in our community. She received the Fayetteville Publishing Company's 12 | July/August • 2012
