2016 | 17 Destination San Anselmo 5 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT/CEO CONNIE S. RODGERS ENERGIZE THE LOCAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT e mission of the San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce is to support member success and to grow the local economy. Destination San Anselmo is the only sanctioned resource guide and business directory with information designed for folks wishing to relocate, local residents, visitors and businesses alike. at supports our businesses to strengthen our local economy. Our chamber membership is more than 200 members strong and growing. We represent small to large local businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, home- based businesses and government agencies. Since December of 1944, we have represented the interests of San Anselmo and the Ross Valley communities. e Core Values we share with chambers of commerce throughout the Western States start with Creating a Strong Local Economy and also include Promoting the Community, Providing Networking Opportunities, Representing the Interests of Business with Government, and Taking Political Action. However, as a community, we need to work together to better balance the interests of the whole community to ensure our economy is strong and our future is bright. San Anselmo Chamber has partnered and collaborated with several organizations on important issues. San Anselmo economic development, workforce housing, transportation gridlock, and parking issues are just a few of the topics the Chamber brought to the table. Today, while there are many online shopping options, we encourage you to support local businesses when you shop. Storefronts are vacated when not enough customers walk through the door. When you buy locally, the money spent is multiplied three times or more and pays for important local services such as parks, libraries, and street repairs. And, storefronts and offices are the backdrops of our community's character. We want them to be prosperous, knowing many of them sponsor children's sports teams, nonprofit organizations, the arts, and libraries. San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce sincerely thanks our advertisers. Without them we would not be able to deliver this guide to visitors, residents, businesses and beyond our borders. When you can, do business with local merchants, vendors, and service providers. It keeps our community strong and our economy growing. MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR GREG DAVISON Welcome to San Anselmo!
