CHEPs have successfully completed 48 hours of approved training in their area of concentration and are required to complete eight hours of approved training annually to maintain their certification. How we teach our students will impact them as much as what we teach. Consider this: We are changing the world, one student at a time. Why are professional development and continuing education important to you? e only constant in the world is change. What we teach today may not even be applicable in a few years, and technology alone is expediting just about every aspect of our lives. New discoveries and improved methodologies only happen when we spend the time and effort to push boundaries, expand thinking and ask "what if ?" Frequent training and learning are now permanent components of all careers, and as educators, we should recognize that we are spearheading the future through our students. What's one thing you think career education leaders can do to improve institutional performance? Communicate more effectively and efficiently. From alumni and students to vendors and oversight organizations, the amount of communication that educational leadership regularly engages in and participates in is quite staggering and may sometimes be conveyed or received inaccurately.
