Indeed, Lisa did her part on the front lines as an M2 50-caliber machine gunner on top of a Humvee. While she understands that some people are uncomfortable with women in combat, she is proud that she did her share, and proud that many women are serving in combat roles right now. Lisa credits much of her success to the WWP TRACK program. ese learning centers were the first of their kind — an education center in the nation designed for wounded service members. Natural teaming occurs using a cohort model when WWP alumni join up with other wounded service members. What you acquire is a successful shared college education fueled by combined military experiences, and this inspires a new productive life for the wounded warriors. e WWP TRACK center concept works because WWP alumni enter and graduate from the program as a cohort team. is is a predictable extension of the Warrior Code — "and is why we leave no one behind." In conclusion, Sergeant Lisa Crutch deserves our unconditional respect and support. While conducting research for this article, I learned that Wounded Warrior Project's mission is to empower wounded warriors to gain back their lives. Wounded Warrior Project is endowed by extraordinary men and women who raise wounded warrior awareness and enlist the public's aid every day to answer the needs of severely injured service men and women.
