Epsilon Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Colorado State University Spring 2016 e Kappa H t e Last Four Years Kappa Kappa Gamma's Journey at CSU W hen I first walked into Epsilon Beta in the spring of 2013, we were a chapter in transition. The women I was joining had been going through a very rough patch in our history, but what I remember is that there were so many beautiful, intelligent, and happy women at Epsilon Beta, and I wanted to be one of them. To my excitement, I became a Kappa and quickly learned about our past, along with the expectation that we were the class that was going to bring the chapter back to the top of Greek life. We were going to be the change for Epsilon Beta. As the chapter began to change, so did our chapter house. Our alumnae dedicated themselves to providing the best home imaginable to push Epsilon Beta into a new era. In my years as a Kappa, I have seen our House Board transform the basement into a state-of-the-art study space and theater room, revamp our bedrooms with new furniture, and make over the entryway and living room. Epsilon Beta has been a beautiful place to call home thanks to our alumnae. It is now a home that reflects the strength of our sisterhood. Looking back as a senior, I cannot say it has been an easy climb. Being Greek at Colorado State can be a struggle at times, but that is how I know we have an amazing chapter. I know the women who are in Kappa today are truly my sisters because they have stuck together through difficult times. Our past may not always have been bright, but I am thankful for that hard timeā€”it made our chapter what it is today. Those in my class, and the women we have recruited since then, are the most driven, creative, and bright group of women I have ever met. People always ask me why I feel this strongly about being a part of a sorority. I always say to those people, "From the outside looking in, you can never understand it. From the inside looking out, you can never explain it." This is true. A person who has not been part of our chapter can never truly understand how great it is to be an Epsilon Beta. When I think about all of the trials and tribulations we have gone through, it makes me so proud to be a part of this chapter. Kappa has made me who I am today. They have pushed me to be my very best and given me opportunities that I never would have had if I were not a part of this sisterhood. I know the women who will be following in our footsteps will leave an amazing legacy behind. I cannot wait to see how Kappa Kappa Gamma and Greek life as a whole continues to progress at Colorado State University. As my time at CSU ends, I must thank each and every Kappa graduating this year. I know you will all make your mark on the world and bring positivity wherever life takes you, and I cherish the time we have had at Epsilon Beta together. Kappa, here's to you. Thank you for an amazing four years. Loyally, Dani Akin '13 Undergraduate sisters celebrate Epsilon Beta's 60th anniversary in March.
