ListentoLife.org LISTEN TO LIFE by Dr. Joey Faucette My wife injured her left shoulder some years ago and it was really painful, so painful that she couldn't do the normal things she does every day. "Don't worry, honey," I told her, "I'll take care of your stuff and mine." Little did I know what I was in for. You see, she runs the horse farm we live on which means that she's constantly caring for the horses. And she cooks most all of our meals. And she takes care of our daughter's needs like helping fi x hair and choosing which outfi ts to wear. Then there's the grocery shopping, the housecleaning, and…well, you get the picture. So here I was trying to take of my stuff and her stuff. I knew I was in over my head after the fi rst day. Well, she got better quickly and thank God was able to do most of her stuff. And me? I got better, too, and with a much greater appreciation for what she does to make my life so wonderful. Do you appreciate what the people around you do? Discover what they do and then thank them for doing it—today—as you make a positive life. Crossroads Rescue Mission Receives $50,000 Grant Crossroads Rescue Mission recently received a $50,000 grant through the Walmart Foundation's State Giving Program. The grant will be used to assist our Greenhouse Synergy Pro- gram and to help build three greenhouses to be aqua-and-hy- droponics operational for future growth at the mission. Not only will the greenhouses be used to help support the mission food supply, but they will also be part of our job training program to provide participants with skills that will help them once they leave the mission. The future looks bright for Crossroads, and for as many who would like to volunteer to help in this project. Whether you want to help your community, learn more about growing food, or just want to get your hands in the soil, SYN- ERGY POWER PROGRAM offers opportunities for individuals and groups to get in touch with the land. Many different types of volunteer opportunities exist. If you have a skill that you think might be useful, please give us a call and we'll put you to work!
