All National Park Service entrance fees will be waived for the week so choose a park, near or far, and discover what makes it unique. Each of the 15 Arizona national parks, monuments and recreation areas that charges an admission fee will suspend that fee during National Parks Week, April 16-24. Normally the free admission is limited to National Parks Week's fi rst two days. This year, the entire celebration is included in honor of the park system's centennial. Admission is always free at these locations: Canyon de Chelly National Monu- ment, Chiricahua National Monu- ment, Coronado National Memo- rial, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, Navajo National Monument. Admission fees are waived at these Arizona locations during National Parks Week, April 16-24. • Casa Grande Ruins National Monument • Glen Canyon National Recreation Area • Grand Canyon National Park • Lake Mead National Recreation Area • Montezuma Castle National Monument • Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument • Petrifi ed Forest National Park • Pipe Spring National Monument • Saguaro National Park • Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument • Tonto National Monument • Tumacácori National Historical Park • Tuzigoot National Monument • Walnut Canyon National Monument • Wupatki National Monument Each of the 410 national parks is a thread in the tapestry that tells the story of our country – its beauti- ful landscapes, diverse culture, and rich heritage. Throughout the year, and especially during Na- tional Park Week, the NPS and the National Park Foundation, invite everyone to discover and share their own unique connections to our public lands. "We have an amazing variety of special events taking place dur- ing the centennial," said National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis. "Some commemorate our fi rst hundred years, but many oth- ers look to the future, to the next 100 years, and will help connect with and create the next generation of park visitors, supporters and advocates. It is through them that America's lands and stories will be preserved and passed on to future generations." "With free admission to parks all week long, National Park Week is the perfect opportunity to check out a new location, revisit one of your favorite parks, and perhaps invite a friend who has never vis- ited a park before to join you," said Will Shafroth, president of the Na- tional Park Foundation, the offi cial charity of America's national parks. "It's a great time to experience and celebrate our parks and his- toric places, and discover and share with each other how these trea- sured places are vital and relevant to people from all backgrounds from all over the country."
