Special Promotional Section 2016 Field of Honor The Fayetteville Downtown Alliance hosts the NC Field of Honor, a living display of heroism that flies as a patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, and to honor and remember the men and women who have worn our country's uniform. The opening ceremony for the 2016 NC Field of Honor will be May 21st at 10:00am. This event is FREE and open to the public. Each flag honors someone who is currently serving, those who have served, and the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation sacrifice for our nation's security and freedom. Every flag comes with its own story and displays a card identifying the person who sponsored the flag and the flag honoree. You may honor someone who is living or deceased; someone who is a veteran or is currently serving. Flags are available for purchase for $25 per flag per honoree. Hundreds of American flags will fly on the parade grounds of the Airborne and Special Operations Museum (ASOM), located in downtown Fayetteville.
