We decided to have boutonnieres. She then asked for nominations for Sigma Chi Derby Day. The following women were nominated: Carolyn Hines (Strayer) '62, Susan Glenn (Latas) '62, Judy Anderson (Krauklis) '62, Joy Stephens (Hillard-Donoho) '61, and Martha Ramsey (Empson) '61. Lee Ann Bullers moved the nominations cease. The motion was seconded and passed. Susie Glenn was elected. Nancy then talked about table manners and drinking in public. Introducing the Noreen Checchi Dupriest Scholarship N oreen Checchi Dupriest '92 pledged Delta Delta Delta in the fall of 1991 after enrolling at the University of Kansas her junior year. Along with the equally enthusiastic young women of her class, Noreen sought inclusion in a cause greater than she. The opportunity to create genuine bonds of sisterhood, make significant differences in the Lawrence community, and celebrate all that college had to offer forged new directions. The driving force for Noreen's enthusiasm and love for our sorority derived from the fact that she was not able to start her life in Tri Delta until her junior year. Her unorthodox path to the life she would come to know as formidable proved to be the foundation for this scholarship. She savored all the blessings of Delta Delta Delta and desires to return the steadfast love she has for our beloved sorority. Every year, Noreen will award a sister in good standing with a minimum GPA of 2.9, and evidence of financial need, a $1,000 scholarship. An essay explaining what Delta Delta Delta means to her must be included with the application. The scholarship will be awarded in April at the Pansy Breakfast.
