Camp will begin on Monday, June 11th and run for 10 weeks. May 6th Concert In The Park Free Admission to the Concert In The Park on Sunday May 6th . Live Music & Car Show from 2:00PM til 6:00PM held at Shelby City Park. The Traffi c Jam Band with special guest Harvey Dalton plus many others. May 7th Baseball Regular Season Begins Regular season games get under way for the Pee Wee, Little Tar Heel and Junior Tar Heel Baseball. May 12th Fashion & Beauty Show at Holly Oak Park Gymnasium Today's Fashions for the young and old will be held at Holly Oak Park from 7:00PM til 9:30PM on Saturday, May 12th. The public is invited to come and see the latest fashions. May 19th Shelby Gymnastics' Tiny Tots Olympics & Spring Show 9:00AM Tiny Tot Olympics and at 3:00PM Shelby Gymnastics Spring Show will be held in the Shelby Parks & Recreation's Gymnasium. May 26th Shelby Aquatics Center Opens Shelby Aquatics Center opens for the 2012 season on Saturday, May 26th. Hours for the pool are 12:00PM til 6PM. Season Passes will be available along with daily ticket sales. May 26th Corn Hole Tournament in the Shelby City Park Gym. Doubles & Singles. Doubles draw for Partners. Event begins with registration begin- ning at 9:30AM and Singles Tournament beginning at 10:00AM. UPCOMING EVENTS June 8, 9 & 10 SAC Invite Swim Meet The Sharks Aquatics Club will host over 500 swimmers from the across the state at the Shelby City Park's Aquatics Center for a 3 day swim meet. June 11th 2012 Shelby Parks & Recreation Summer Day Camp Opens for ages 5 thru 12 as of the fi rst day they attend the camp. The camp runs for 10 weeks and you only pay for the weeks your child attends. Don't let your kids miss out on the best Summer they will ever have. June 16th Coveted Fighting Championship Participants from the Carolina's compete in a tough man contest. The bell rings at 6:00PM on Saturday, June 16th in the Shelby Parks & Recreation's Gymnasium. June 23rd 2nd Annual Shelby Triathlon The triathlon gets under way on Saturday, June 23rd at 8:00PM at the Aquat- ics Center with Bicycling and Running events following in this test of endur- ance. July 4th "July 4th Celebration At The Park" Shelby Parks & Recreation will have their annual July 4th Celebration on Wednesday, July 4th at the Shelby City Park. Activities include: Horse Show Tournament, Corn Hole Tournament, $1 Dollar Day at the Pool from 12PM til 6PM, Carnival Rides in the City Park Gym plus Carrousel & Rotary Train Rides all for a $3.00 Arm Ban from 12pm TIL 4pm. July 19th – 22nd Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. Boys Junior & Coach Pitch State Championships 24 teams from across North Carolina will be in Shelby seeking State Cham- pionships in 2 age divisions. 8 Junior Tar Heel teams and 16 Coach Pitch teams will vie for the Championships. July 28th Alpha Sigma Omega Alph Thada Delta Step Dance Competition Step Dance Teams will compete for trophies and awards in this Scholarship Fund Raiser held in the Shelby City Park Gymnasium.
