Chances will be sold that day for a Quilt to be given away that day. $1 each or 6 for $5. The Quartzsite Masters will be held on February 20th at the Quartzsite Tough Golf Course. The cost for the event is $35.00 and includes Lunch, Beverages, 18 Holes from Hell and a chance to win the coveted Green Jacket. There are two shotgun starts at 9 am and 12 Noon. Lunch begins at 11 am. Sign-up sheets are available at the VFW at 305 Highway 95 North. For additional information call Dennis Dole at 928-580-1741 or e- mail at vfwdad1011@hotmail.com McMullen Valley Quilt Show planned Quartzsite Masters planned Feb. 20 Quartzsite Metal Detecting Club held their annual children's metal de- tecting for the Town's After School Program. Each of the children, along with our club members, had a wonder- ful time metal detecting and finding coins and small jewelry in front of Town Hall. This is one of their two annual programs for the After School children; the Panning for the children will be held Feb 17th. A great time was had by all! Operation Hero Comfort Auction and the Soup and Chowder Festival planned for Dec. 10, 2016 That is correct and it is not too early to start making plans for one of the best events to be held in Quartzsite in December. The two non-profit organizations are go- ing to unite for the good of all and hope that it will draw lots of folks. Anyone interested in helping with the organizing of a great com- munity event to help two of our favorite charities, come join us at the Quartzsite Improvement Assoc. (QIA) on Sunday March 6th at 2:30 PM. Any of the folks involved in the past, this is a good time for you to put in suggestions on how we can improve this and make it a super family event. New combined event planned Kids have fun with metal detecting club Quartzsite Gospel Revue with LENORA and Girl Friends Sandy and Doris. Southern and Country Gospel. Friday, Feb. 19 at 7pm, Gold Star RV Park. Music by West- ernaires with Barbara on fiddle and Doris on rhythm guitar. Benefit for injured firefighter, Stephen Parker- son. By donation. Gospel Revue The Garden Party scheduled to be held on February 29 at 12 Noon at the Quartzsite Improvement Assoc. has been canceled due to illness of Project Chairman. We hope to hold this event next winter when all our friends return to our Town. This was a scheduled project to raise monies for the National Mili- tary Service. VFW Auxiliary will still send some monies from the organization treasury to this worth- while cause to be of assistance to our Veterans who sacrifice so much for each of us to remain free.
