February 17, 2016 www.DesertMessenger.com 33 Rainbow Acres Golf Tournament #7 By Linda Taylor We had a really nice turnout for our most recent tournament with several new players and lots of fun for all. The duo of Bob Cutler and Don Clark shot the best score re- corded this season as they shot a 36 which is 20 under par. They had a phenomenal day chipping as they took first place honors. Second place went to the team of Debi Jen- sen and Mac McLean as they shot an exceptionally low round of 38. The team of Robert Barnard and Gene-0 Bisceglia did well as they came in 3rd firing a 39. Fourth place went to Russ Leininger and Robert Dickson who were close behind with a 40. Coming in as the 5th place team was Mike Stegeman and Linda Taylor who fired a round of 41. Bud Key and Tom Chopski shot the next best score of 42. The only casualty of the day was Bud Key's 6 iron. Bud swung so hard, he broke the head off his club! Closest to the pin on #8 was Mike Stegeman with a hole-in-one. Don Clark had a hole-in-one on #9 to win closest to the pin. Men's long drives were hit by Russ Leininger and Robert Dickson on hole #13. Long drive for the ladies, was won by Debi Jensen. In exhibition golf, Ben Campbell, Brian Hopkins, and Brian Jacques (all Canadians) defeated the team of Larry Jensen and Con Smith. There is one more tournament sponsored at Rainbow Acres for this season and it will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, at 10:00. Hope to see you on the links!
