The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Arizona (GFWC-AZ)
ViSaWen Women's Club has awarded funding as part of its Community
Support Program to eight (8) organizations in the Salome area. Those
receiving awards were:
• Arizona Western College Foundation, to support Salome High School
students interested in furthering their education after high school.
• Friends of the Centennial Public Library, to support expansion of the
children's collection at the library.
• McMullen Valley 4-H, supporting members needing financial assis-
tance to attend the La Paz County Fair.
• McMullen Valley Chamber of
Commerce, supporting the Great
Arizona Outback Chili Cook-Off
and Independence Day celebration.
• Salome Elementary School, to
support additional educational
materials and new books.
• Salome High School's FBLA,
helping send qualified members to
State Conference.
• Tri-Valley Medical Association,
to help bring the Mobile On-Site
Mammography (MOM) Unit to
Salome and also their Salome Walk
for the Cure.
• HOBY-AZ, helping send student
to state leadership conference in
June.
The GFWC-AZ ViSaWen has devel-
oped this community grant pro-
gram to assist local nonprofit
groups in funding projects de-
signed to promote growth and well
being in Salome. This is the
fifth year the Club has budgeted
funds for the grants.

Queen of Peace Catholic Church
will begin host a Pancake Breakfast,
Feb. 27 - 7:30 to 9:30 A.M.
The church is located at 5005 E.
Mockingbird St. (¾ mile East of
ARCO Station) in Quartzsite.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST - All the
pancakes you can eat, plus you get
Sausage, Eggs, Juice and Coffee
or Tea for $5.00 per person. Our
famous cactus syrup is served and
available for purchase. Breakfast is
served the 2nd and 4th Saturday of
each month from November thru
the first week of March.
