Our new neighbors later told us they decided to rent versus buy because they had heard through the grapevine that "the Leahys are renting and Rhonda is in real estate, so it must be a good idea." I'm no market prophet, but in that par- ticular instance, we were both relieved to be renters as we saw the Florida mar- ket tank over the next two years! On the flip side, as newlyweds at Ft. our friends reaped tens of thousands of dollars in profit when they bought and sold homes during that time. It still makes me wince to remember. In all, I guess military moves aren't much different from those made by our civilian counterparts, but we have the luxury of reaching out to our big family network for help with every step of the way.
