A Lifestyle While those vistas are magnificent in every season, there is a particular majesty in the summer. "It's a stunning place in the summer, like being in a different world," he said. At 5,000 feet elevation, between Grand- father Mountain and Sugar Mountain, the home offers a reprieve from Fayetteville's high temperatures and thick humidity in the summertime. However, Weber said he also thoroughly enjoys being snowed in and decorating in an old world, rustic charm style for Christmas, when the house is brimming over with wonderful smells of the season. He said he favors very bright, large bulbs of colorful lights adorning the eves of the rooſtop and outdoor railings, reflecting off the snow and dark wintery skies. While relaxing at his retreat, Weber plays golf at the Linville community's coun- try club and takes the time to indulge in the fine dining experiences offered nearby. "Probably the finest restaurant in the state is the Artisanal restaurant," he said. "They have a phenomenal wine list and an incredible eat-in cellar downstairs at the foot of Diamond Creek Resort in Banner Elk." Pairing wines with cuisine comes easy for guests inside Weber's dreamy kitchen, which is complete with elk antler door pulls on the custom tri-section refrigerator, with carvings that replicate the details of numer- ous Black Forest antiques in other rooms of the home. Nightlife is always hopping with a great club on site of the property that We- ber and his guests frequent. By day, Weber enjoys the excursions on the many hiking trails that meander through the property. What fun is a gorgeous mountain geta- way home if it cannot be shared with great company? Weber hosts many friends and guests including a wine club from Florida that ventures up for an annual gathering around the Fourth of July. "I like to cook, as do many in the circles of guests that I entertain," said Weber. Not only does Weber know his way around the kitchen, he is a consummate wine enthusiast and collector who is mostly into California wines. There is a stone stair- case that leads down to the wine cellar in- side the home. "We had to blow a hole out of the rock with dynamite to build the wine CityViewNC.com | 23 Photography by Dan Forer
