Jan. 15, Red- lands Truck and RV held their annual customer appreciation dinner here in Quartzsite. Over 600 people were in attendance. They held a 50/50 draw- ing and raised $800. The Friends of the Library got half. Mr. King gave a $100, bringing the Friends total to $500. Keith and Karen blew us away by matching the total amount with an additional $500 from Redlands Truck and RV. They also encouraged those attending the dinner to visit the library, donate books to the library and become patrons of the library. Such a wonderful act of kindness sets an example of how we should live. Giv- ing back to the community and those around us. Thank You, Thank You. THANKS AND MORE THANKS I'd like to express gratitude to my neighbors at La Posa South for being kind during what has been an extremely stressful winter. When you're eight miles from town and have to pack your own water, empty a BlueBoy, have your vehicle out of commission for 3 months, is a major disaster. Especially when you're living below the poverty level and mechanics charge $80- $100/hour. I have Chronic Fatigue Syn- drome, Fibromyalgia and Adrenal Exhaustion, as well as EMF sensi- tivity. Some days I can barely get out of bed, or walk. No vehicle is a major survival issue.
