Both coaches had very positive things to say about their teams' performances. With two games remain- ing in the 2015-16 girls' basketball season, the varsity team sits at a 7-6 record (2-5 in their section) and is within one spot of clinching a berth in the sectional tournament. The Lady Frogs have been very busy during the month of January, and have faced a number of tough sectional opponents. Six of the last eight games have been played against sectional teams in- cluding Mohave Accelerated Learning Center, Bagdad, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, The Odyssey Institute, Tonopah Valley, and Mayer. Chris Schuldt, head coach of the girls' team, said, "Although the Lady Frogs have won only two of those games, with their aggressive de- fense and quick-hitting offense, they have been able to compete and challenge their opponents until the fi nal horn. I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to coach these girls. De- spite some heartbreaking losses this season, the girls have maintained their composure and have fought hard in every game. Thank you to all of the friends, family, and community members that have attended our games this season. We hope that you will join us on the road at Arizona Charter (February 2nd) and Mingus Mountain (February 3rd) as we fi nish out the season." Matthew Scharboneau had this to say about his boys, "I'm very proud of how the guys ral- lied together; there were numerous occasions Salome High updates on which we could have collapsed and given up, but we stayed together and continued to fi ght. It's been a fun season thus far and hope- fully we've got a bunch of games still in front of us!" In other news, our FBLA club continues to stay busy. The group would like to thank the ViSaWen for having them at the January Luncheon. FBLA will be selling cinnamon rolls at the upcoming Great Arizona Outback Chili Cook-off on February 20, 2016. Come fi nd them for a delicious start to your day! Salome also recognized the 25 students who made Honor Roll and perfect attendance.
