Moon Mountain Ave. Quartzsite. Gift shop winner amateur radio community both in and out of state. Support from the Town of Quartzsite, RoadRunner Market and Ed Options was amazing. Everyone came together to lift youth into science and technology through Amateur Radio and everyone contribution is what mad this day such a success. Many youth and teachers from La Paz county par- ticipated including, Quartzsite, Ehrenberg, Wenden, Salome and Bouse. The day was divided into 2-hour seg- ments. Students rotated throughout the stations where they had the chance to work with experts and participate in demonstra- tions of digital Ham Radio communications, discover visual modes, create their name in phonetics, practice Morse Code, get on the air, explore emergency communications and see a mobile station, discover solar power, learn about radio controlled helicopters and so much more. "It was so great to see the students light up. We thank all our supports and volunteers for bringing it all together and making this a memorable event, "said Heather Caton. This was only one event in a yearlong pro- gram. Many students have been involved in an 8 week afterschool Radio Study program and tested for their Technician License at this year's QuartzFest, an ARRL Specialty Convention that took place between Janu- ary 17 to 23, 2016 right here in in Quartzsite, Arizona.
