Angie moved to Quartzsite in 1950 with her children Frank and Vickie, and her husband Jesse G. Scott, who was a native of Quartzsite. Her third child, Jessica, was born four years later. The Arizona desert was a foreign place to Angie. With the assistance of the local school teacher, Mrs. Buse, she soon discovered the beauty and magnificence of the Sonoran Desert. Angie was a hard working woman. As well as raising her three children, she maintained a garden, fruit trees, raised chickens and rabbits, assisted her husband and mother-in-law Ange- la Scott, when they would brand cattle and when they would work at the gold mine. At different times, Angie was the custodian of the Quartzsite Grade School and she was the clerk for Judge George Hageley. She was an active member for the Quartzsite Women's Club for many years and supportive of the communi- ty, especially in regard to the children. Those who were fortunate to know Angie were familiar with her positive, caring attitude and actions; her never- ending sense of humor and her love of music and dancing. Angie is survived by her brothers Robert Marquez and Cipriano Marquez; her children Frank M. Scott (Mary), Vickie (Scott) Bohn- stedt, Jessica (Scott) Yates; grandchil- dren Kym Scott, Kathy (Scott) Lodew- yck (Andy), Rhonda (Scott) Lennex, Sandy Scott, Justin Scott Bohnstedt, Tyson Scott Bohnsted (Tami), Mor- gan Scott Bohnstedt (Jen), Michael Bedzyk, Frank L. Volunteering was in her blood, Jan was known to be a frequent "helper" at school when her children were younger. She was proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jan was especially thankful to be able to recon- nect with her first-born, Tim, and be a part of his family. Jan passed away on December 3, 2015 in Glendale Arizona.
