The Red Bluff All Star Little League Team, who won their way into the hearts of the community as it watched their journey to the Little League West Coast Regional Championship game on Aug. 13 in San Bernadino, will be one of the grand marshals. The team came within three outs of advancing to the Little League World Series, falling 2-1 to Hunting- ton Beach's Ocean View Little League Team. Northern California Farm Credit Red Bluff (530) 527-1941 Chico (530) 895-8698 Willows (530) 934-7071 The other grand marshals come from the Junior Spartans Pewee Football team who won the first ever NorCal Fed Super Bowl. The team that went on to win the NorCal Fed Super Bowl went undefeated the entire season, scoring over 300 points and allow- ing less than 20 for the year, he said. "It's a special group of kids with great chemistry," football coach Eric Coates said. "There's a core group of them that have been together for a few years so to see it culminate in the super bowl was amazing. We had some really good games toward the end. It was just a good experience all around." we have to offer as a program as well as little league and that there are other things to do besides cause trouble. It helps get our names out there." Last year was an exceptional level for youth sports in Red Bluff from the All Stars to the Junior Spartans, especially for three young men who were involved in both sports, Coates said. All Star members Deonte Antolin and Body Parks were a part of the midget group of Junior Spartans and Tanner Tweedt was the quarterback of the pewee football team, he said. The group is excited about being a part of the parade. "It's pretty cool that the chamber invited us to do it," Coates said of being Grand Marshals. "It definitely highlights the positive things for kids to do in the com- munity. It shows what For the Little League All-Stars it's another in a long line of accolades that included a pair of nationally televised games. "We got to meet a lot of people and have a lot of different experiences like playing other out of state teams and going from a crowd of 50-70 people locally to 10,000 people," coach Donnie Button said. "The local support created energy for us- to see so many in the community support us throughout the all stars and even there, there was quite a following in the games at San Bernadino. To see fam- ily and friends and other coaches embrace us the way they did cre- ated great memories and friendships to last a life time." Host Hotel 530.529.7060
