November/December 2015 The North Carolina Mason Page 3
kept the beach fans smiling and sway-
ing and dancing under the oaks.
A couple of hours later, as the final
notes of the band echoed on campus
and a cool breeze started to grow, Sat-
urday's outdoor activities concluded,
and streams of traffic exited as quickly
as they had arrived in morning.
Evening Homecoming activities
continued with the Annual Roast,
this year honoring Oxford Orphan-
age Alumnus and former Masonic and
Eastern Star Home Administrator
Tommy Jones, in the Home's cafete-
ria. Sunday brought the annual alumni
church service and business meeting
of the Oxford Orphanage/Masonic
Home for Children Alumni Asso-
ciation. e weekend's final event, the
Sunday Lunch Under the Oaks, hosted
alumni and their families as well as the
current family of residents at the Ma-
sonic Home for Children.
With the Fifth Annual Homecom-
ing Festival a wonderful memory, we
thank all those in our fraternity, our
Shrine temples, and our Masonic fam-
ily of volunteers who made this week-
end possible. We turn our thoughts and
planning to next year's event, October
7–9, 2016, and what memories will be
made then.
We'll see you there!
