GIVE, EXPECTING NOTHING THEREOF FKQ CLONE PHI KAPPA THETA FRATERNITY n IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY n FALL 2015 The Pride in Our Past, Foundation for Our Future Campaign Is Now Complete W e did it. Thanks to all the generous donations of time and treasure from so many alumni, we have renovated the chapter house and exceeded our fundraising goal. Thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars helped make this possible, and we should be proud of what we have accomplished. Phi Kappa Theta at 2110 Lincoln Way is now a facility that allows us to compete with other chapters on campus. This upgrade has already paid dividends as our summer recruitment yielded 16 new associate members, our largest class this millennium. The facility is safer, more efficient, and a much more comfortable place for our undergraduates to call home. Contributions to the campaign crept up just over $643,000, which exceeded the $400,000 to $600,000 mark that was recommended by the feasibility study. Even more impressive is the fact that our alumni participation reached 32%, while typical campaign results are 20-25% based on numbers from our consultant. It's a testimony to how the house has bonded us together, and how proud we are to be Phi Kaps. With the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for Our Future campaign officially concluded, we want to take time to recognize all of those who had a hand in making our success possible. Included on page 2 is our final donor list and we are grateful for everyone who contributed. We have also listed those brothers who served on committees during the campaign, including the alumni corporate board, campaign committee, and building committee, as well as era and class leaders. There were many meetings, conference calls, e-mails, and phone calls that went into our success. We appreciate everyone who reached out to others from their era to encourage their participation. This undertaking would not have succeeded without each and every one of you. If you haven't yet seen the finished product, please stop by next time you are in Ames and take a tour. For those unable to make it back, we hope the photos on our website at http:// pktalumni.com/construction-progress and in mailings have helped you stay connected from afar. Alumni Involvement Sets Iowa Xi on Path for Continued Success Undergraduates recruit largest new member class in over 15 years; chapter welcomes 16 new brothers. Young alumni and older undergraduates pose for a picture at the Homecoming tailgate (keep in mind it was on Halloween). Undergraduates and 1980s and 2000s graduates catch up with each other outside the Homecoming tent. With the completion of the capital campaign, we are now shifting our focus from the facility to annual chapter operating expenses, including alumni events and communication. Our next vital step is to embark on a self-sustaining annual campaign beginning this fall. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks as we tell you more about how you can stay involved. It is our hope that Phi Kap alumni will make modest contributions through this annual giving program. Thank you for your participation, thank you for your generosity, and thank you for living up to our motto, "Give, expecting nothing thereof." We are all very proud to be Phi Kaps, and it certainly shows.
