ALUMNI HOMECOMING EVENT ENDS IN SUCCESS Our first major alumni event took place on October 24 during Homecoming. Several alumni and parents came down to enjoy a fun and relaxing get-together. Our chapter hosted a softball game for alumni in the afternoon, and for dinner they were treated to Benton Square, an upscale restaurant that features private dining. To finish off the night, we hosted a brotherhood bonfire to build relationships and share stories between the active chapter and alumni. PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE It is our hope that future generations of Alpha Iotas will carry on the chapter's powerful legacy and continue to instill the values of hard work and dedication. We want to thank alumni for your tireless support and dedication to the future of Alpha Iota. If you are ever in the area, I encourage you to stop by. After graduating from college, Howard pursued a career in steel manufacturing in the Chicago area, where he quickly rose to leadership roles and eventually managed two foundries. Howard met Irene in 1951, and the following year they were married. They had three children and the family moved to California in 1969, settling in Walnut Creek. During their 59-year marriage, Howard and Irene enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends, and traveling to the fullest. Howard is survived by his three children, Linda, Phil, and Jim; and three grandchildren, Aaron, Jennifer, and Kyle. Jason R. Skaggs '89 entered Chapter Eternal on July 9, 2014, as a resident of St. Louis, Mo. He is survived by his wife, Nicole; chil- dren, Christopher, Colin, Carson, and Coo- per; mother, Rita; father-in-law, E. Ronald; mother-in-law, Geri; sister-in-law, Melissa; and nephews, Tyler and Brody. He was loved by his family and friends, and will be missed dearly. Alumni News Kenneth R. Onward and Upward (Continued from page 3) Justin W. Hiller '94 reports that the Hiller family is doing great in Columbia, Mo. His oldest son, Ryan, helped establish a hunting and fishing club at Battle High School and was elected president of the club. Justin's youngest son, Kyle, set the school record in the 1600M run at 5:01 in the eighth grade division. The 4x400 relay team has also been successful at setting the record at just under four minutes. Brocke '97, his wife, Tara, and their two kids, Natalie and Jack, are living the life in Auburn, Maine, after spending eight years in Florida. They've traded their beach chairs for downhill, cross country skis and snow mobiles. As president and CEO of Maine Machine Prod- ucts Co. & Hoppe Technologies Inc., he runs two companies in the northeast servicing the semi- conductor, aerospace, defense, and commercial markets.
