Epsilon Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Colorado State University Fall 2015 e Kappa H t Epsilon Beta Gets a Makeover House Board Renovates Chapter House Basement T his summer, House Board completed a highly anticipated renovation of the basement. The objective was to transform the space into an inviting entrance, study room, theater room, chapter council room, powder room, and beverage bar, while still providing storage space for our House Director and the housekeeping department. House Board appointed a sub-committee of dedicated Kappa actives and alumnae to finalize plans with architects and engineers, and to engage professional contractors to complete the work. The results exceeded all expectations. The basement reveal took place on August 30. The chapter members reaction was more than House Board could have hoped for! No more "creepy basement;" in its place, "Kappa Heaven." More photos of the renovation can be found on the Epsilon Beta Alumnae Facebook page. As the doors to the basement were opened, the ladies rushed in and screamed, hugged each other, hugged House Board members, and could not wait to use this new space as a recruitment tool in late September. And it worked—Epsilon Beta welcomed 63 new Kappas! What is the best part of the basement remodel you may ask? Could it be the Epsilon Beta history wall; maybe the famous Kappa inspirational quotes display complete with the initiation years dating back to 1896; perhaps the theater room, where members are found relaxing while watching movies; or the study room, which is in use all hours of the day. Stop by and decide for yourself. On page 5 of The Hoot, you will find information on tours of the chapter house and we encourage all alumnae to come see the beautiful renovations.
