LIKE US on Facebook.com/ DesertMessengerNews FOLLOW US on Twitter @QuartzsiteRain I had to laugh when I read the quote above. That must be my problem! I'm just curious! See... you do learn some- thing every day! I guess what happens when your curious is that you do some- thing about it. So, I was curious about the group meeting during the summer discussing how to drive Quartzsite forward into the future through social media and joining the US Chamber, AZ Tourism, etc. And then they appointed me Marketing Director, and then, and then, and then. So there's a group of folks who have jumped into the Cham- ber world of volunteering. Oh, crud... what was I thinking? We're all so busy already! But that curiousity and learn- ing more about how to support local businesses become successful fits right into my life's passion. I've worked in newspaper advertising for so many years, it's second nature to want to help an advertiser be successful. By Shanana "Rain" BearCat And to join with other business own- ers who feel as passionate about the future of Quartzsite is so exciting, I can barely contain myself. When we became aware of Small Business Sat- urday, the governing board jumped right on it. When we applied to AmEx, we hadn't even opened the doors yet; and we offered the Business Chamber the option. Since they're so busy with planning Santa's Workshop Art Festi- val that same weekend and Christmas Parade, there just wasn't enough time in the day to do it all. So folks, we're all working together on this together. Get out and Shop Small Business on Saturday, November 28th. It doesn't matter if they are members of one or both chambers...or neither...just get out and support local businesses, arts & crafters, and our vendors, too!
