HERE COMES THE COLOR Fall 2015 and Winter 2016 brides are opting for snow white, glittery and dimensional gowns, after a few seasons of pastel alternatives. How- ever, that doesn't mean bridal jewels must be relegated to white diamonds and metals. In fact, we are seeing event palettes switch from washed- out to medium-hued pastels with copper & rose gold accents for everything from fl oral arrange- ments to foil-stamped invitations. That means brides will also want to bring a matching pop of color to their overall look for the big day. Rath- er than traditional suites or parures, it's about choosing one statement piece that will enhance, but not overcome the gown. When it comes to engagement rings, yellow and rose gold, as well as mixed-color metals continue to be popular for trend conscious brides-to-be. Colored center stones are moving beyond the "royal" blue sapphire to more nuanced shades of pink and purple which can be deeply personal to the wearer. It all circles back to the desire to have something unique and meaningful, so custom and one-of-a-kind designs with unusual colors and cuts continue to gain in popularity. INVESTMENT TRENDS When it comes to fi ne jewelry, most everything is what we'd call an "investment piece!" However we've moved far beyond that term to include the traditional items like a solitaire pendant, a strand of cultured pearls or tennis bracelet. Now, more than ever, the investment is in jewelry that is meaningful, that says something about the wearer's personality and unique style. Sophisti- cated fashionistas zero in on a trend that they re- ally identify with, and imagine all the ways they can wear it and make it their own. The trickle down effect of runway fashion often means trans- lating trends through accessories. We eschew the Burberry Prorsum suede fringe poncho, but invest in an amazing fringed cuff that can convey the glam boho concept with a simple white tee, cocktail dress or motorcycle jacket. The coming season's color palette of vibrant pastels can be regarded from a similar perspective. Adding Cadmium Orange to your wardrobe might seem overwhelming, but if you fall in love with a stunning Imperial Topaz, you'll fi nd a hundred ways to make it the focal point of your ensemble!
