The 2012 Dogwood Festival will start downtown at 6 p.m. on Friday night, April 27 with a "Bloom & Boom" Kickoff Party and the monthly Fourth Friday celebra- tion, followed by a Gretchen Wilson concert and a fireworks show. (Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the event.)
The fun continues downtown throughout the weekend with local and regional musicians playing on the Midway stage and Cape Fear Harley Davidson's show- case area in the 400 block of Hay Street, featuring a motor cycle simulator. The midway will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday so that everyone can get situated for the free Spin Doctors and Eve 6 concert and on Sunday the festivities will wrap up with Lafayette Ford's annual Classic Car show in the 400 block of Hay Street and the Band of Oz beach music concert, which will begin at 3 p.m.
