Club Bulletin November 2015 11 www.theEDexpo.com Now, Capozzi books 200 feature entertainers and novelty acts all across the U.S. and internationally. The key to being a successful feature agent, he believes, is being available around the clock in order to handle any and all issues that may arise prior to or during a booking. "Being an agent is a 24-7 business, because the industry is 24-7," says Capozzi. "You need to always be accessible to the clubs and the entertainers. I'll never turn my phone off after 5 pm. I pay attention to the details and troubleshoot every booking ahead of time. If there is going to be a problem, where will it be? I'm putting out fires before they start." Understanding the keys to feature agency booking success There are several "keys" to having success with feature entertainer bookings (for more on the nuts and bolts of bookings, see the Feature bookings 101 article on the final page of this article). First, you have the have the right feature for your club and demographic. Second, all of those involved in the booking have to properly pre-promote the booking. "It's essential that everyone works together," says Capozzi. "The club has to promote it on their website, print ads, radio and social media, as well as in house. The club's DJ also promotes it with announcements in the club, a week or two before the booking. The feature has to promote it on her social media; Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. And as an agency, we take the extra step by sending out press releases to adult media promoting where the feature is going to be appearing. I have a marketing degree as well, and I'm always here to offer suggestions and ideas for club owners/ operators when it comes to promoting a feature booking. We are all working toward a common cause." Of course, a booking agency cannot be successful without having top-name, quality feature entertainers to book, and Centerfold Features certainly has that in spades. As Capozzi explains, attracting entertainers to their agency (they currently have 200 entertainers available for booking) means showing the girls that he will do everything he can to make sure their booking is seamless and safe. They're a reputable agency with wonderful talent. From flight info to itineraries to hotel info, he takes care of it all which makes my job a lot easier. And the talent he's able to supply us with is amazing, from 'LA' Hugh Hefner to the other novelty acts and the features, they've all increased my business. It was Danny's idea for us to book Nicole Bass (former Howard Stern Whack- Pack Member and female bodybuilder). The Stern show actually covered her booking. That amounted to about $100,000 in free advertising for Lust. Our business is great and it's all because of Danny!" — Brent Jackson, Owner, Lust Martinsburg, West Virginia (books features weekly) For a price range on the cost to book these features in your club, see the last page of this cover story, Feature Booking 101
