THE ZETA CHI PIKELINE Fall 2015 ZETA CHI CHAPTER OF PI KAPPA ALPHA AT MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY A s I reflect on my first three years as president of the Zeta Chi Alumni Association, I am happy to say that the association is stronger than ever. e association's primary goals are to promote brotherhood for life through alumni events and communications, to ensure that Pi Kappa Alpha prospers at MSU, and to have fun. I am proud to say that we have once again been successful at all endeavors. Last August, we received our fih consecutive William R. Nester Award for Alumni Association of the Year. Everyone should be proud of this accomplishment. e Zeta Chi Alumni Association is once again considered one of the best by Pike Headquarters. e association continues to host numerous events throughout the year. We had more than 200 alumni attend events in 2014. I want to thank all alumni who paid their membership dues, attended events, and who volunteered their time for the association. I understand that you have other priorities in life and your support is what drives me to volunteer my time to the organization. Join the Alumni Association We have some challenges on the business operations side of the association, but I am confident that we will be ready to meet these challenges. e history of Zeta Chi is one of resilience and not taking no for an answer. First, our revenue comes from association dues. Membership in the association is not growing fast enough to offset our increasing expenses now that we maintain the fire truck and offer financial support to the active chapter to attend Pike University. We simply need more alumni to support the association in order for us to reach our goals and to continue to operate at a high level. Zeta Chi Alumni Association Is One of the Best Fifth Consecutive William R. Nester Award Planning toward the Future Second, the Zeta Chi Chapter does not have a chapter house. I am convinced that Pi Kappa Alpha needs housing to be competitive in the long term. To address these challenges, the ZXAA has contracted with Pennington & Company, the leader in fraternity public relations, to help us with alumni communications and to help us plan for the future regarding housing. Pennington & Company has represented 61 national and international Greek-letter organizations on more than 124 campuses across the U.S. I am very excited about the future of Zeta Chi. I look forward to seeing you at a future event.
