March 21, 2012 LETTERS FROM PAGE 4 With gratitude A great big Thank you to all the voters who supported me in the primary election for Council and all who helped in such a positive way. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be of service to Quartzsite. I may run again, given the opportunity and timing presents itself. To the voters who didn't vote for me, thank you for participating in the election process, for every vote counts. Voting is a hard earned right; many died for this right, so thank you for taking the time to vote. If you didn't vote, please regis- ter to vote for the upcoming election. If you do not vote, don't complain about the result. With great Gratitude, thank you! Starr BearCat HELLO NEIGHBORS DUMP THE DRUGS: take all left- over and expired prescriptions to the Quartzsite Police station at 305 N. Plymouth Ave. for proper disposal. Please bring your questions for staff and council. Refreshments will be served. In the mean time if you have questions feel free to contact me at: panderson@c.i.quartzsite.az.us Bye for now. Patricia Anderson Quartzsite Town Council Thank you VFW & sponsors After a year of looking forward to the Quartzsite Almost Annual Desert Golf Tournament we were not disappoint- ed. We had a great time and plan to return next year and win. The only exception to the fun all were having was when the idiot in the dark pickup deliberately fl ew by the www.DesertMessenger.com event at a high rate of speed to make as much dust as possible. Some es- timated his speed in excess of 60mph and God only knows what would have happened had he lost control trying to avoid the golfers crossing the road. Many were veterans of combat in Ko- rea, Viet Nam and the Middle East. Imagine surviving combat and then being run down by a jerk that's never had a good spanking in his life. This was not just reckless and careless driv- ing but intentional harassment of the event. Had a police offi cer witnessed this behavior he would have been cit- ed. Some locals identifi ed him as a young, immature, spoiled brat, alleg- edly named Cameron Norris. Since several seemed to know who it was they were probably correct. We're looking forward again to next year. Perhaps next year this fool will be wearing pink underwear and we can have a pleasant day of contribut- ing to local charities while enjoying desert golf. Tim & Anna, Fresno, CA Bill and Lori, BC Weather postpones Party in Park March 25th By Joanne Winer The 17th Annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens that was scheduled for March 18 has been postponed until March 25 due to inclement weather. All planned ac- tivities and luncheon will remain the same, starting at noon at the pavilion at the Town Park. We are sorry for any inconvenience this decision causes, but with the cold, high winds and rain we just could not have it when planned, but hope to see everyone there on March 25th. The lunch will consist of barbequed burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, mac- aroni salad, coleslaw, beans, drinks and dessert. There is no charge for the lunch, but donation cans will be put out to help with the cost of the food. The music entertainment for this year will again be Barefoot and Boots RV PROCTOLOGIST Dirty Holding Tanks Need Servicing Annually. Let us clean them for you. Suite 167 Gilbert, AZ 85233 928-916-1908 www.rvholdingtankdoctor.com band. This band has played at many of these parties the past several years, as well as at the annual Spaghetti din- ner benefi t for the Gardens. One of the band members, Jerry Mullins, has been playing for these parties for the past 16 years!! Along with this great band, Paul will be bringing out his pi- ano, and will play some boogie woogie and blues accompanied by Ralph Mar- tin on the one-string washtub bass, Jerry Mullins on guitar, and Morgan and Marina Mulac on backup vocals on some songs. Should be a lot of fun!! There will be a raffl e as well to help with the costs, with some great prizes. If anyone wishes a tour of the Gardens we would be glad to show you around so you can see what we have been do- ing--many of the plants are now in bloom, so it should be really colorful-- bring your cameras!! You might also want to bring a chair as seating is limited, and a hat if you are planning to be in the sun. Come on out and enjoy a great afternoon with your friends and neighbors and help us celebrate Celia's birthday and the Gardens!!
