Page 4 Parent thanks 4-H I would like to extend a huge amount of thanks and gratitude to our Quartz- site 4-H leader, Judy Pearson. The work ethic and respect she personally displayed to and expected from our kids was amazing. I heard her talking to our kids, including mine, and never heard her raise her voice or use a nega- tive tone. The judges at county fair for Poultry, Cavys (Guinnea, Pigs and Rabbits were amazed at the knowledge our kids had about their breeds of animals, the vari- ety, colors (some had 11 or more), and parts of their animals. I would also like to thank Terry Pear- son for helping to find the breeds of rabbits the kids wanted; which were high quality and all the time he spent on the Internet gathering information on all the breeds and species. Our parent cooking leaders did a fan- tastic job teaching our kids to bake. Rihanna Timberlake received a spe- cial award for her cooking; all the kids baking took very high awards. Thank you Monica and Tanya Timberlake for your great job! Between the Small Stock animals, cooking and indoor projects, our kids from the "Denim and Dust" 4-H club brought home over 50 ribbons. The kids did a phenomenal job and as a first year club, we can only improve. Our new 4-H year starts in September. Thank you, Hope Behrendt Quartzsite parent Another Election Well, just before the election we re- ceived another piece of printed trash in the mail from the Foster, Jones, Prutch, and gang. What a waste of pa- per!! No one expects any of that gang to tell the truth so the lies, misstatements and innuendos were no surprise. Does it strike anyone else as odd that only FORMER employees are the ones "confirming" Mr. Lukkasson's utility bills? Do you think they might have an axe to grind? As for the rest of them I'd like to know what they contribute to this community besides chaos. Ms. Jones refuses to buy a business license for anything she has, ergo doesn't have to pay tax to the town, county, etc. Between Foster, Jones and their gang, they've cost our town thou- sands of dollars for their frivolous and self-serving law suits and charges, all of which have been refuted by the in- vestigating agencies. I guess it doesn't matter when you don't pay taxes, sup- port town functions, or support the town in any positive way, if you use up We're Back @ Main St. Laundromat Wash the dog, & the clothes! HOLLYWOOD PETS Mobile Grooming Professionally groomed by Robin Barbour Award winning groomer! 23 years experience! Pamper your pet in our state-of-the-art fully mobile grooming parlor Best Rates in Town! 218-426-5317 as many of the towns resources as you can. If everything is so bad for them why don't they leave? It was a great place before they got here and will be again when they are gone. They don't like the town council, the police, the town manager, the planning and zon- ing. Doesn't it make you wonder why they want a town without a police de- partment? What are they doing they don't want to get caught at? Let's just say NO to their intimidation and keep our hard working council, with Jerry Lukkasson for mayor. Let's not let the gang of bullies run wild and their puppet master get his hands on the utilities so we will all have to pay more. Keep our good and decent police dept. and perhaps the Foster/Jones gang will crawl back to the sewers they came from. Barbara Bowman, property owner and permanent Quartzsite resident. Thanks So Much, I'd like to thank all of you who took the time to vote for me. It was a won- derful experience, one that I will never forget. It was a pleasure meeting so many of the locals on a level that many never get the chance. You never know what the future holds and maybe some- day I will try again. If you ever think I should, please do not hesitate to let me know. I still have the page upon page upon page of your thoughts, sugges- tions and questions. I plan to use all of your information in the future to make Quartzsite an even better place to live. I may not have become the next Mayor of Quartzsite but that doesn't mean I won't try to make it better! I am forev- er grateful for all you have taught me. Thanks so much, for trying to end the cycle. Jenny Mills, Quartzsite Occasionally "Occasionally, out of a horrible expe- rience a blessing may come." Gene Wilder Sabotage is an interesting thing It catches the attention of Karma Much like Goliath caught the Attention of David... Never under-estimate the power Of a sling shot and five smooth Stones. Hygeia Halfmoon Queen of Hearts March 21, 2012 Let's hope Last Wednesday morning I awoke to bright sunshine. The cat was hungry as usual; the birds and rabbits were doing their thing. No great change seemed to be in the air. In reference to the night before, at breakfast, a friend said," This too will pass." His wife said, "Life without balance can't sustain itself." The flow of business in town has been in balance, but there is no guarantee it will stay in balance. The same people who work hard, to maintain a balance, and make good things happen will still be here as well as the volunteers who work with them. The same people who take no part in the work, will still stand by, unbalanced, and criticize. It's so easy to do nothing but snicker at good deeds than be an active citizen. Time will tell and the world will still turn, so the sun and moon can rise and set. The small of mind will still be with us and as the man said, "This too will pass." Elmer F. London, Quartzsite Thank you voters of Quartzsite I want to take a minute to thank each and every person who participated in the most recent primary election.
