As a "military brat" with many moves around the country, coming to Texas for college offered new solidity, and after evaluating the Greek system for over a year, David pledged Pike in the spring of 1983. He reflects on Pike "as an experience with tremendous impact on the person I have become today." David told The Beta Mu Review, "I had almost given up joining a fraternity. Then I got to know Bruce McDonald '82 on a Christian group canoeing trip, and the next thing I knew, I was over at the Pike house getting to know people. I felt like I immediately fit in at Pike. I recall constant basketball games with Tom Breedlove '82, Steve Glasgow '82, Bill White '84 and Mike White '86, and a lot of other great guys. We also did a lot of good things for the community, such as a Fun Run that then-president Todd Hasie '81 asked me to organize, which successfully raised money for charity. While serving as treasurer, I had to be creative to help pay the repair bill on damages to a Houston brother's lawn following a monsoon-laden summer rush event in River Oaks that had turned the lawn into a giant slip and slide event! But Pike was, appropriately, all about the people, the friendships and the level of trust I had that my fraternity brothers would always be there for me and I for them, no matter what." David was born at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, and completed high school in Montgomery, Alabama in 1981. He earned a U.T. B.B.A. in accounting in 1985. David is married to Jana Banowsky Enloe, who was a Chi Omega at U.T. They met when David was working with several other Pikes parking cars at an Austin steak house. They will celebrate 29 years of marriage this December. The Enloes have three daughters and a son: Janie, who earned a B.A. at the University of Alabama in 2012 (and is currently dating Pike alumnus Ryan Corn '09 in Houston); Bailey, who earned a B.B.A. this past May from Alabama; and Risa, currently David Enloe'83 and Rick Jackson '83 at a Pike football weekend party in 1985. David Enloe'83 and wife, Jana, met at U.T. and will celebrate 29 years of marriage in December. (Continued on page 4)
