F
ounded in 1849, the Delta Chapter of Saint Anthony Hall has
persevered and thrived on three college campuses, in multiple
clubhouses, and through domestic and international wars. We have
produced 167 consecutive classes without interruption, initiating
2,000 brothers. Our fraternal order is the longest continuously running
fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania. Our landmark clubhouse
at 3637 Locust Walk is the last privately owned fraternity on Penn's
campus. Our alumni association—the DAA—is 104 years old and the
strongest and essentially last organization of its kind among fraternities
at Penn. Our order has produced governors, senators, representatives,
Medal of Honor winners, Titanic survivors, Olympic gold medalists,
Henley boats, industrialists, influential academics, authors, scientists,
national sporting champions, and gentlemen. This deep and distinguished
history would not have been possible if not for the steady and passionate
involvement and generosity of our alumni over the generations.
THE HALL TODAY
The Hall remains the focus of undergraduate life for our members.
It continues to serve as a home away from home, a place where they
can share their aspirations, intellectual interests, problems and life
experiences. If Saint Anthony Hall is to remain an independently owned
property—and a unique presence on the Penn campus and in the lives of
future members—we must redouble our efforts to preserve its facilities
for coming generations.
