ALPHA CHAPTER HOUSE COMPANY P.O. BOX 943 OXFORD, OH 45056 Address Service Requested Recolonization Effort Update Inside! the same time has the ability to increase revenue in the summers when the General Fraternity can use our chapter house for leadership development programs. COMMUNICATIONS Justin Beck '02 The Alpha Chapter encompasses a diverse and far-flung group of brothers spanning many decades, but we are working hard to keep you abreast of alumni activities and progress toward the recolonization effort. Through biannual Alpha Slants, seasonal Alpha Flashes in your inbox, and regular updates to our Facebook page (www. facebook.com/alphaBTP), we hope you are able to remain connected with the chapter. Please help us reach out to our lost brothers by taking a quick look at this list (https://my.betathetapi. org/reports/lostmembers/lost100101.html) to see if you can provide any of the missing contact information. Also, look for upcoming social events in your area. If you're interested in hosting one in your city, please let me know. E-mail justin. beck@mac.com for more information. ALPHA HOUSE COMPANY Pete Barnhart '66 See the house company report on page 2. FROM THE CHAIRMAN Bill Haywood '74 Brothers, I know all of you would be proud of the selfless and unflagging work that the steering committee members have accomplished over many hours of telephone conversations and face-to-face meetings. Of course, this dedication is not really unusual for Betas, particularly when so much is in the balance. I think we can all agree that the recolonization of the Alpha Chapter is a labor of love, but the more support all of our Alpha alumni contribute, the more of a reality it becomes! I recognize that we are all engaged in many other activities that vie for our time, but I'm sure you will be as energized as I am by the prospect of bringing Beta home to Miami University. There is still much work ahead, but the path is clear. The words of a young Beta I listened to recently at an informal Beta alumni meeting in Worthington, Ohio, ring true. "Beta gives you something a University cannot." How elegantly simple and how true! I recently traveled to the 176th Beta Convention in Orlando to attend the steering committee update meeting with Beta executives. The real highlight for me, however, came from watching and listening to the young Beta men representing so many chapters across North America. Any question about the relevance of fraternities today quickly disappears when you see these incredible young leaders in action. The only thing missing from that convention were Alpha Chapter underclassmen, but with your help, that will change! Make no mistake though, to return the Beta Stars to their proper place over the Alpha Chapter, we will need the assistance of every Alpha brother. We look forward to hearing from you.
