As probation is starting to become a distant memory, brothers continue to build on the progress we've made. We started off 2015 with a great recruitment. Academically, we achieved a 3.027 grade point average for the spring semester. Socially, we maintained one of the most lucrative social calendars on campus while still ending the year with a substantial surplus in our chapter accounts. Each member met their requirement of 10 service hours last semester, with numerous brothers going above and beyond. MORE THAN $5,000 RAISED FOR THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION Philanthropically, we raised more than $5,000 for the American Heart Association through our annual Paddy Murphy Week. Over the spring and summer, ΣΑΕ's Financial and Housing Corporation has made multiple upgrades to the chapter house, including a completely renovated second-floor bathroom, new futons, and new mattresses. While many brothers took on internships and classes over the summer, the executive board made it a priority to keep planning for next semester and the general future of the chapter. EXECUTIVE BOARD MAKES PLANS FOR FALL We held our first annual executive board retreat in Champaign this past June. At the retreat, we discussed each position's expectations and overall goals for the chapter, established a mission statement specific to the executive board, and continued to build chemistry among the board. We have made outstanding progress and many leaders are starting to emerge, reassuring us that this progressive trend will continue. We've outlined plans to continue to excel academically, philanthropically, and socially; now it's time to put them into action. ALUMNI, GET INVOLVED WITH ILLINOIS BETA As much as we're looking forward to the next academic year, we are excited to continue to develop relationships with Illinois Beta alumni. We're hosting a wide array of alumni events this year and will communicate the details as those dates approach. If you'd like to play an active role in the chapter or simply reconnect, I'd be happy to talk with you. You can reach me via e-mail at svollme2@gmail.com or by phone at (217) 371-2807.
