Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Fall 2015 Tau Tales * T he campaign for Tau Chapter is quickly drawing to a close! We have raised $349,535 toward our $400,000 fundraising goal. Due to the support of numerous alumnae, parents, loyal supporters and friends, we were able to renovate the kitchen in 2014, and complete a long list of needed projects this past summer. On behalf of the Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, I thank you for your generous contributions. We couldn't have done it without you! Over the past few years, updates to the chapter house were made in the dining room, entryway, and stairwell. One of the most popular rooms in the house, the Violet Patch, an informal gathering room on the second floor, was also updated this summer with support from our Parent's Club. Be sure to visit KU ADPI – Tau Alumnae on Facebook to see more pictures of the fabulous updates and renovations, which were only made possible through the generous contributions of more than 323 alumnae. We all know that the real "soul" of Alpha Delta Pi is exhibited by the high character and quality of the college women who join our chapter. But to stay competitive on campus, it is also vital that the physical elements of the Tau house exhibit appealing features to attract such women, both now and in the future. It is no surprise then, that after the recent interior updates, we had such a successful recruitment as we welcomed 61 new members, including six legacies! While we are well on our way to having one of the nicest Greek houses on the Hill, we want to ensure we continue to enhance the house on its interior and exterior in ways that appeal to undergraduate members, alumnae, and future members. Though the renovation work from the summer is complete, the house corporation board continues to review its long-term plans for Tau Chapter. Some preliminary discussions have revolved around updating the exterior of the chapter house. No permanent plans have been made, but we will continue to keep you, our loyal alumnae, informed of these decisions. For those of you who have given generously to the Continuing Our Tradition, Securing Our Legacy campaign, I sincerely thank you. Your generous gifts have made a tangible difference in the quality, attractiveness and livability of the Capital Campaign to End December 31 $50,465 Still Needed to Meet $400,000 Fundraising Goal Donate today by visiting alphadeltapi. kintera.org/ donatenow! Work in the entryway and Violet Patch were completed at Tau Chapter this summer. Thank you, loyal alumnae, for all of your support to make this dream a reality! (Continued on page 3)
