Student activities included bubble gum art, written descriptions of how bubble gum tastes and feels, techniques on how to blow a bubble, bubble blowing contests and the history of how bubble gum was invented. Students learned about architecture, building structures, city planning and color palettes as they made their project. The students also entered individual collage projects. Utilizing iPads and Green Screen App by Do Ink, students learned how to collaborate to create short films illustrating various topics. The films were entered in the Red Bluff Film Festival. LOS MOLINOS SERRF students use green screen technology COURTESY PHOTO A Makerspace competition was held at the fairgrounds in Red Bluff during the Tehama District Fair, when students were given boxes of materials and asked to create specific items from them. There were several rounds of competition, and the team of Jack Terrell and Nick Curcio won the championship. Their last creation was a 65-foot egg drop in which they fashioned a bubble wrap and parachute apparatus.
