"Not for College Days Alone" PI DEUTERON CHAPTER OF PHI GAMMA DELTA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS • FALL 2015 I t is vital that we, as alumni, contribute time, energy, and our financial resources to our Fra- ternity. Our gifts are an investment in the lives of our active members and the future of Pi Deu- teron. We thank all the alumni who've already contributed, as those gifts have directly impacted our undergraduate members and our renovations. We are at a critical point in our capital cam- paign. At the end of this year, we will evaluate what projects can be completed during the sum- mer of 2016. This will constitute phase two of our renovations, and we'd like to complete as much as possible while the students are on sum- mer vacation. We need to know what kind of dollars we've got to work with, and this is where you come in. We need to get much closer to our goal of $3.5 mil- lion, and we can only do this with your support. The largest project of phase two includes our fourth-floor project, which will allow an entire pledge class to live together. We feel this is nec- essary for bonding, leadership, and scholarship. But this experience on the fourth floor can only happen with more contributions. Your pledge to- day absolutely can make the difference. In addition to the fourth floor, the following are very important initiatives we would like to ac- complish as well: • Establish a significant, performance-based endowed scholarship program that will aid in recruitment and further incentivize aca- demic performance. • Endow a fund to provide for future capital maintenance and repair of the Chapter House. This will ensure technological and educational components are properly maintained and will release additional funds for proactive maintenance of the structure. We must focus our efforts and ensure the same opportunities provided to us will be available for our future members. To remain a strong frater- nity on campus, we must provide a competitive facility that accommodates growth and attracts the best and brightest young men. Several fraternities on campus have undergone major renovation projects, including our neigh- bors. Additionally, many of our competitors' capital campaigns have had far more participa- tion than us. We're just over 11% participation. Even if we just doubled our participation, we Phase Two Renovations Dependent upon Reaching $3.5 Million in Commitments Your Pledge Can Make the Difference The Fraternity coat of arms from the first Chapter House at 1540 Louisiana is being incorporated into the new north wall of the back entrance. would be much closer to our goal. Will you add your name to the list on the next page? Pi Deuteron needs your generosity now more than ever. Please send in your pledge form to- day to increase our total participation and make phase two a reality. Your gift couldn't come at a better time. We look forward to adding your name to our donor list. Fraternally, Kevin F. Mitchelson '79 Campaign Co-Chairman kmitchelson@wm-law.com Dan H.
