Join us. starting October 6th for Tai Chi, Yoga and an upbeat easy moving class, Forever Fit. What is Tai Chi? Tai Chi, pronounced (TIE-CHEE) is a slow-motion, low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic, yet relaxing exercise. It began as a martial art in China. Tai Chi has gained enormous popularity in America and throughout the rest of the world for its health benefits for body and mind. Harvard Uni- versity is calling it, "Medicine in Motion." Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. You may also find tai chi appealing because it's inexpensive, requires no special equipment and can be done indoors or out, either alone or in a group. What is Easy Yoga? This is a gentle class to help increase flexibility and stretch your spirit to mind to body. Get grounded, balanced, and centered via postures that unwind and de-stress you. Allow yourself to enjoy the ability to concentrate with gentle yoga poses that focus on breath as you move. This Yoga class holds all the elements of tra- ditional Eastern yoga, but modi- fies poses and creates new ones to fit the needs of the Western lifestyle. Focus on: lower/upper back, neck and shoulder, as well as abdominal strengthening. A chair is provided for support if needed. What is Forever Fit? This class will involve some light movement and incorporates strength training with balance and flexibility for overall fitness improvement. Have fun and move to the music, upbeat and posi- tive, through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Increase muscular strength, range of mo- tion, coordination, agility, and bal- ance. A chair is provided if needed. With the participation and support of the community and visitors, they were able to collect 84 lbs. (excluding weight of packaging) of unused/ expired prescription medications for destruction. That is 84 lbs. of medicines that won't be abused, dumped into the water system, or sit in a landfill. QPD wishes to thank everyone who participated.
